MOVE! Weight Management Program

MOVE! Weight Management Program, located in Thorne Bay, AK, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Veterans through effective weight management and health promotion strategies. Our mission includes annual screening for obesity among all Veterans receiving care at VA facilities and providing tailored weight management referrals and treatment options that align with their individual needs. Services offered encompass group sessions, personalized telephone lifestyle coaching, TeleMOVE! for in-home support, and the MOVE! Coach mobile app for those who prefer self-management. Additionally, we provide access to weight loss medications and bariatric surgery for Veterans who continue to face challenges with weight despite participating in MOVE! We invite Veterans interested in improving their health to connect with their local MOVE! Coordinator or VA provider to learn how to get started on their journey to a healthier lifestyle.
