Selma Schimmel Vital Grant

The Selma Schimmel Vital Grant is dedicated to supporting individuals in Skagway, AK, who are grappling with the financial burdens caused by chronic, terminal, or rare conditions, including cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease. This program provides essential utility assistance and grocery support, ensuring that those in need can maintain their basic necessities during difficult times. While the grant covers either utilities or groceries, it also collaborates with Vital Options International and other local organizations to connect recipients with additional resources and assistance.
