Elders Program

Located in Galena, AK, the Elders Program at APIA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our senior community through comprehensive support and essential services. Our program offers a range of resources including caregiver training, case management, and assistance with durable medical equipment. We provide personal care assistant services, respite care, and fall prevention education, ensuring that seniors receive the help they need to maintain their health and safety. Through our monthly Elder Food Box, community teas, and potlucks, we promote social connections and nourishment. We also assist with Medicare and Medicaid, offer transportation in the Anchorage area, and provide advocacy and support resources tailored to seniors. With initiatives like Gatekeeper Training and Older Adult Mental Health First Aid, we prioritize the well-being and dignity of our elders, making sure they feel valued and supported in our community.
