Women, Infants, & Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Gakona, AK, is dedicated to fostering healthy eating habits and improving nutritional health for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Through a range of supportive services, WIC offers nutrition education, provides supplemental foods, promotes and supports breastfeeding, and facilitates referrals for essential health care. Our mission is to ensure that every mother and child has the resources and guidance they need to thrive, emphasizing the importance of nutrition for strong, healthy families.
