Elders Program

Located in Barrow, AK, the Elders Program of APIA is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors by providing essential food assistance and a range of support services tailored to meet their unique needs. Our program offers caregiver training, case management, and access to durable medical equipment, ensuring that our community’s elderly population receives comprehensive care. We facilitate consumer-directed personal care assistant services, respite services, and educational resources focused on fall and injury prevention. Our commitment extends to Medicare and Medicaid assistance, as well as fostering social connections through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and monthly elder food box distributions, teas, and potlucks. Transportation services are also available for elders in the Anchorage area, alongside advocacy, support, and resource assistance. We believe in empowering our older adults, providing them with the tools needed for a healthier, fulfilling life in Barrow.
