Newbie....sort of
I joined a while ago but didn't post much. I have a hard time talking to people on a personal level I can listen to what's bothering someone all day long but can't open up about what's bothering me. It's kind of awkward to just "jump right in" and I just don't know where to start.
I have had depression and anxiety since I was a kid. Been hospitalized a few times and don't want to that route again. Been trying to pull myself up by the bootstrap but my bootstraps seem to broken. š
I'm not great with technology so if I'm posting in the wrong place I apologize.
@Scarlettbttrfly Hey, no worries, you're at the right place! I too am not very good with technology. I'm very sorry to hear about your suffering, nobody should have to go through what you have. I'd just suggest talking to your friends about it. But if they aren't very open, come talk to us! We will support you no matter what. I'm praying for you, and I hope you find happiness and peace somewhere. Hugs - sparkly kitten
Hi,
Iām glad your post is here. I downloaded this app about a month ago but thereās so much to it and Iām not good at starting cold and jumping in.
Iāve been dealing with ADHD my whole life without knowing it but doctors always want to treat me for depression first. Iāve just always gotten in my own way and at this point in my life I feel like Iāve wasted so much in terms of time, energy, opportunities. I have great kids and I live for them. They could something really fulfilling for themselves someday and have pride in what theyāve done.
My daughter told me I should get therapy. Iāve never tried it because of the cost and also because I donāt know whatās appropriate to share, or if it would do me any good. Iām hoping to find out. Thanks.
I know exactly how you feel. Please know that your allowed to feel that way and itās not bad that you donāt feel ok. If you want to talk Iām here.
itās funny your name is butterfly.. Iāve always loved butterflies and have told my sister that theirs something special about them that I canāt quite put my finger on. The ironic thing is that a butterfly has to go through a stage of struggle to fully turn into a butterfly from his cocoon and to push the fluid through their wings so they actually will work. Keep pushing and donāt stop because your wings are forming little butterfly :)
@Scarlettbttrfly Hi. A great āpull yourself up by your bootstrapsā for depression is Dr David Burns, āFeeling Betterā. He has a newer one, āFeeling Greatā, but I found it not as good as the original.
