I joined here 9 years ago. I have been assisting on and off, based on my self-care and growth cycles.
I have learned to remember and ground myself because seeing someone in distress or need, could make me to want me do more than I can (or are allowed on this platform).
Allowing any feeling of helplessness if it arise instead of contracting myself, helps. The feelings of distress dissipate.
When I joined here, I was going through some of the life's downs, and found that some times, helping another helps me experience the strength I hold in myself.
What about you New Listener? What has brought you here?
For non-urgent talk, you (new/old listener) could leave me a message and I could listen to you depending on my availability.

Hello TPM! I appreciate the work you done on 7 cups in the past 9 years.
I joined 7 cups this year. At first I thought I am here to volunteer and help, but actually I also learned a lot from my listening experience. I agree with you that listening gives us strength.

I just joined few minutes ago! I'm in a difficult life situation from which I see no way out (I need an outside perspective). I'm MtF transgender and I live in Russia, where recently LGBT+ was recognized as extremism.
I cannot find any place where I can chat with someone via online-chat or e-mail. For example I'm shadowbanned on Reddit automatically just after registration - people don't see my posts and my comments are dispersing after I send them. I just don't know who I can write to. Some sites are only for lifeline call, the other, for US or UK residents only.

I am Vasudha from India. I wished to talk. I am in early thirties and I feel overwhelmed and continuousy disturbed by the kind of expectation the people in my life keep having as a woman. There is a subtle differential treatment and I seen to have some issues with men and women both to keep confirming with the conventional order. I have stiky conversations with my partner but nothing seem to help. I am no more excited about work, friendships, family and anything. Is it how it can be?!
