Google!
I found 7 Cups of Tea on google. I was upset once and googled online help sites, and I found this. I really enjoyed my experience as guest here, and I was 15 at the time. I wanted to become a listener but I was unable to because of my age, but since I turned 16 a few months ago (August) I jumped on the chance to become a listener. Ever since I love it!
@LeighaRose we are so happy you found the 7Cups site and have become apart of this wonderful community !
I originally was using this site for my own help found through googl search. Once I noticed the impact it had on me, I knew I wanted to take it further and help by listening to others!
I was looking for a place to volunteer for practice as a therapist before starting my Masters Degree. So I found it by Google, and found the great Internship program! My first evening I helped someone with a lonleyness and addiction problem. It felt great being immediatelyhelpful.
Like ShawnL, I was also looking for a place to volunteer to prepare me for my master's degree then I found this on Google. I applied to become a listener immediately. I was still a little nervous at first talking to my first member. When I've read the reviews, it felt really good knowing I was able to help those people. It felt fulfilling in a way that my current job right now couldn't give me. I feel like I have been given a purpose in life. :) I couldn't stop talking about this site to my friends.
I had come here at 7cups of tea before as guest. later I was looking for place to volunteer along side my education in psychology. I enolled myself as a listener. Now i am doing an internship here.
I am amazed I can be helpful.
I googled it up while seeking help for someone else.
Many things came up,
but I fell for the name, 7 Cups Of Tea - sounded different and so soothing.
I Googled online counseling as I was upset & couldn't sleep with worry. I found this site listed & something about the name made me want to try it. I'm glad it did as helps me feel less alone!
I found it the exact same way, as I was having a few personal struggles of my own. I thought the people were very nice on here and thought it was very beneficial for me and helped me recover, so I wanted to become part of the team too :)
Yes me too. I almost cut myself after about six months of not cutting, and so I needed someone to talk to, so I Googled it, and found this. After I had had a conversation, I realized that I might be good at being on the other side of the conversation, so I became a member, and here I am.
My story is also similar. I was upset and found this through google. It helped me to speak to someone and I saw the button to become a listener. The next day I became a listener and helped 2 people. It felt very good to be helpful and be able to give them a listening ear. Now I am here almost daily to help out. It is such a simple yet powerful tool.
