deleting old conversations

Hello all,
I've been away for months. Even though my status was set to offline I've come back to dozens of old messages. I'm a little OCD and woud like to purge these messages for a clean slate. Is there anyway to do this? Thank you!

@5thousandmiles if you're on the browser version, this should be pretty easy: there's a little 'x' next to the chats on the homepage, which hide them (aka "get rid of them") until the person messages again. Or if you want to, when you click into a chat, there should be a little garbage can icon that will get rid of the messages forever
Not sure how it works on the app but you can always login using your phone browser to do this quick then go back to the app :p
