I'd pick most popular while in school then smartest when out. WHICh seems problematic and wouldn't work in real life at all.
Most popular, definitely. Being the smartest is extremely problematic because you don’t learn to learn, and you’re entire self-esteem gets tied up in this one aspect, and then you go off to college and are no longer the smartest and don’t know how to catch up.
If you’re the most popular you are by necessity honing skills like negotiation, time management, compromise, and team work. Skills you’ll use the rest of your life.
