Hello!

Hello everyone!
my Name is emz and I deal with heavy anxiety and panic attacks under pressure or when something triggers my ptsd, I’m going through write therapy right now but my therapist won’t talk to me about how to cope with my anxiety or panic attacks, does anyone have tips on how to deal with them?

Hey emmie! Nice to see you again! (well, not 'see' but you get what I mean 😊) I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks as well, and while I haven't found something specific to panic attacks, I find that deep breathing (like we did earlier) helps me with both, though maybe not as much as I would like. Hope that helped at least a little!

@Emmiedepressie. Bubble baths, grounding techniques like naming how many dogs you can think of to stop the worry thoughts and redirect your thought on dogs. Worry/anxiety journal too is my fav. 20 mins to write down everything you think and refuse to waste anymore time that day to worry or anxiety. Then you make out at least 5 specific action plan things to solve your problems. Gratitude lists daily and redirecting thoughts are great too. Practice practice practice all your coping mechanics and it becomes natural and you recover.

Hey Emmie ! First I’m sending you virtual hugs for taking care of yourself and going to therapy . As someone who still experiences anxiety attacks from my PTSD and just life in general , I found that breathing techniques such as box breathing can be helpful. I also enjoy reading to get out of my head . I found that whenever things get really hard , I can focus on my book and just be there in the book until my heart rate slows down. Meditation is also an amazing tool for anxiety however I wouldn’t recommend meditating mid attack but doing it daily helps you navigate anxious situations better .

Hello Emz. If i have one suggestion for coping with anxiety than i would recommend you to listen to something. Its on YouTube. Its not music but far better than that. Try listening to the recitation of Quran. It helps me a lot.
