Yes, completely okay to want to chat with only female listeners. While putting a general request that goes out to all the listeners, you can type/ mention after the topic space that you are looking for only female listeners to talk to. You can also search for listeners using different filters here: https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/.
Regarding the suggestions, It's fairly relative, I feel, listener to listener, of what kind of topics they feel comfortable with, knowledge about different resources etc.
In general, yes, it's just active listening, no listeners should be advising you for anything but if you're needing to brainstorm for suggestions regarding coping mechanisms or something you can invite them to share!^^
