Finding a listener
Hi, I hope it's ok to post this here. I have been trying to find a listener to speak to about truama but I am struggling to find one. Any suggestions?
There are a few listeners who accepted my request and some left after like 10 mins of chatting and the others were rude.
Or trying to connect to 10 diff listeners. Their status that are green but no one seems available.
I only come here to vent, so I just want to speak to someone that won't be hurtful. I know that there are good listeners too. I just don't want to continue searching and end up with listeners not being kind.
Thank you :)
Hey @Novelwriter, so proud of you for trying to seek support, and yes you very much deserve good support.
Please do feel free to report the listeners that are rude to you, or that do not reply after accepting the chats (in other words ghosting), an honest feedback is always helpful, and hopefully can help them improve more.
It may help to take screenshots, and report the same to community@7cups.com as well, either relevant details, so the admin team is aware and can take necessary actions.
I understand the hassle this must be, to be here needing support but instead dealing with such unkind and unprofessional behavior. :/
You can try looking for listeners via this thread as well, although I'm unsure how updated it is. May help to check out the bios of these listeners, and ensure if they are currently available for support. https://www.7cups.com/forum/TraumaSupport_60/DiscussionQuestionsResources_481/TraumaSupportListenersList_234538/
Sending love your way, I really hope you can find a compassionate space to vent soon. ❤
Meanwhile you can also try forum diaries here, if you find that comfortable.
I'm kinda new here, but I find most replies on this site very supportive. I've read mixed things about listeners.
Anyway, I've been through various kinds of trauma at different stages in my life and by different sources(abusive, alcoholic dad, kidnapped at age 12, stalked in college, and mourned my mom's drowning after being face down, washing back and forth on shore for a couple of days- not how u wanna see ur mom) and I hope u never feel alone. Even when others don't understand, sometimes we just need them to be there, to show up.
I hope u can open up where u feel safe. Pls don't let some insensitive people deter ur healing.
