Anyone else a grown adult still afraid of their parental abuser? She’s been out of my life since I was 18, In my head it’s like she’s omnipotent and can get to me whenever she wants. I know logically that silly, but well into my 30s she still has a mental hold on me.

This is pretty much my story with my mother, and to some extent, my father.

Even after setting boundaries and cutting them out of my life for my mental health, I still deal with some of these passing feelings.

My mother's friend and her husband emotionally abused me . Even in my 40s , she had a hold over me. I am in my late 40s and now I just get angry with her and her husband. They changed the course of my life. I get very angry when I think of them. I want my revenge even now!
