Emptiness, Numbness and Silence in Therapy

I have been in therapy for about a year for trauma. I am now experiencing great problems with emptiness, numbness and silence. I hate to keep paying for therapy when all I can do is be silent. I am not sure why I have been feeling this waybut it hasn't changed for quite a while.

Is this common?

Has anyone experienced this and how did you deal with it?

Any suggestions are welcome.

My therapist is understanding but it isn't changing anything for me.

@amiableBeing8117 I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I know that hitting a wall in therapy like this can be overwheliming bc you want to see things happen and we as therapist understand you are paying for time. You may ask your therapist if she has other techniques to help. Music or art therapy to get you moving. Or give you homework in between sessions so you can review when you are there. You can also work on procesing or talking through what the silence feels like. And its okay to talk about a break or change if needed. As a therapist I want to be effective in what you need. Best of luck!
