What Resources/Threads are Most Useful?

LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS May 25th, 2021

Hello there!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. I wondered what resources/threads are most useful to you in this online sub-community? We want to make this space yours and continuously update it so it's welcoming, informative and engaging. Please let us know what you would like to see more of perhaps its therapist involvement, icebreaker threads that encourage you to contribute, fun topics, threads on mental health topics....

The space is yours and we look forward to your suggestions!

Take care,

Threads about different coping skills

More therapist involvement would be cool. I also remembered back in the day when some therapists would actually join group chats! That would be nice!

I know the therapists have to take time out of their schedules, but we're starting to come out of the pandemic, so more therapist AMA's would be good.

Hi @LisaMeighanMBPsS

Thank you for this Lisa 💜

A discussion thread for different topics. We have self-help guide on training page but if there's a thread where in time, it may have many relatable questions answered, it would be great. Listeners, can learn and or just refer people to the posts.

Having self-help knowledge and skills + a regular support from listeners who have better understanding of the topic is great. It would still different than having a personal support from Professional Therapist as one issue may or may not comorbid with other issues and only Therapist can correctly diagnose, Therapist will have a systematic support plan that will actually show significant improvement, assesment tools, etc.

Look forward to hearing from you again ♡

@LisaMeighanMBPsS

I have recently encountered several members who suffer from extreme isolation that preceded the pandemic and several who have a lot of fear around social interactions. Not sure if there's a way to address this generally, but the fear and/or anxiety extends, of course, to an inability to trust medical professionals, both doctors and therapists. How can a member work toward establishing enough confidence to seek professional help when the fear of opening up is an issue in itself?

It's a difficult issue to support long term since the conversation becomes circular, and it would be great to be able to point these members to resources (on or off 7 Cups) that promote the right therapeutic paths in a way that can be heard by a member who has these types of fears and/or anxiety, if those resources exist.

Those are all wonderful suggestions and each one is so valuable to making this space really work for you all. Thank you for taking the time to share each of them and we are already thinking of ways how we could include all of the feedback into what you want to see in the 7 Cups Online Therapy Sub-Community!

Maybe some help with finding therapy that can be free or actually covered by someone's medical whether it is online, telephone or in person. That's my personal struggle at the moment. I am seeking help but can't find anyone that will take my current medical. And the process is becoming so stressful that it is now affecting my anxiety and depression also
