Hi Everyone❤️! Today’s post is going to be about striving for perfection. Sometimes when achieving our goals, we expect everything to be perfect throughout the journey. However, that is not always the case sometimes things do not go the way we wanted.

  • Has there been a time where you strived for perfection but it was not attainable?
  • How did you feel when you found out it wasn’t attainable
  • Did this event have an impact on your life?

For me, there has been a time when I strived for perfection, and I did not attain it. It was with a cake I was trying to make for my mother’s birthday. I wanted the cake to be perfect, but I did not have some of the resources for it, so I had to improvise. I felt sad when I found out it wasn’t attainable, but this event did significantly impact my life. I learned that it’s okay not to be perfect with everything. What about you?

I look forward to seeing your replies 💕.

This post made be really reflect!

  • Has there been a time where you strived for perfection but it was not attainable? In my upbringing "perfection" was pretty much the rule, always having to try to achieve the very best. Lateron I understood perfection is just an illusion. I remember a painting I made and thought it was not good enough so I threw it away.
  • How did you feel when you found out it wasn’t attainable? I remember hearing myself saying "You can make anything right!" which was very painful.
  • Did this event have an impact on your life? For a long time I kept that negative self talk but eventually when much older I started to feel just okay with things I do and appreciate them, I learned to value what I do.

  • Has there been a time where you strived for perfection but it was not attainable? Yes in school I tried to be the best but there were two people in my classes who were always better than me.
  • How did you feel when you found out it wasn’t attainable At first it was disappointing but eventually I started to accept that.
  • Did this event have an impact on your life? Well it helped me be a little more humble.

I was raised by parents that expected perfection from me all the time. I was made to do chores over and over 5 to six hours until it met their satisfaction then I got the privilege to go to bed if it was not time to go to school.

It was not until I began college that I found out I was no longer that A student and could not pass my classes with A's. So I dropped out.

I now realize that we can never be perfect and it is unobtainable in these bodies. Yet I still hear and find the need to do things in the most perfect way possible and if I can't I walk away feeling defeated.
