Question
Why do people judge or think less of people with mental illness
@Peacefulhelper22 I think one of the big reasons is that we all have the same basic bodies but each are unique. Anyone of us can get a blood clot or diabetes or high blood pressure and people take a pill to control it. But when it comes to mental illness some people may have the mistake idea that there is something wrong with the person. That is called a stigma and in US the stigma of mental illness is real although it is talked about more so the stigma is shrinking.
Mental Illness in many cases is a physical brain dysfunction where the brain's receptors do not accept the signals that it normally would receive. Sometimes meds can correct this imbalance and people can live a full and joyful life.
What I think you have pointed out is that people can make judgments about other people who are different than them. Judgments are what divide the world into factions working against each other. 7cups is making a Clique Free zone where all people are welcome and accepted. I find I get the best understanding and compassion from people here.
Hope you find the support and acceptance you are looking for. This video helps me in that task: https://youtu.be/ss1_s5gajyY
