I need to quit smoking

virgolobotomy January 22nd

Hi. So I’ve been smoking weed everyday since 2021, and I have no idea how to slow down. Like I genuinely don’t have a clue. The worst part is that I keep on smoking even though I know it makes me paranoid sometimes. I’m also on psychiatric meds: Prozac, concerta, ability, and lamtical. I thought I’d include that because I think that smoking interferes with how meds work sometimes?? I’m very unstable as a person all around, so I feel like I just need to stop. The main reason I wanna stop is because I don’t have the money to buy weed 24/7. A 1g cart lasts me like 3-4 days, and I don’t have the money for it.

@virgolobotomy I'm sorry for you. You are right, both financially and physically, that you should quit it. It does nothing but harm you, so you should try to give it up right away.

For me at least, quitting cold turkey is the best option. I am only on day six of my recovery after nine years of smoking. It is more difficult to give up smoking the longer one smokes. Smaller amounts can be effective, but there is a risk of continuous use and forgetting about quitting altogether. Here are some activities: Participate in online marijuana anonymous meetings. Read books, go on walks, whatever you want. If you want to talk more, I am available.
