Somewhat struggling

I just came back to 7 cups after a few years of flying solo. I was doing reasonably well, not drinking everyday, but the last month or so I've steadily increased back to drinking every other or every third day. I always drink til drunk but know my limit is about 4 drinks. I know what the trigger was and I suppose that's why I came back. I'm not sure how to deal with the triggers more effectively and I resort to numbing. There's not a problem that alcohol can't make worse.

I'm trying today.

It sounds like you are aware and yet you decide to drink anyway ... in a way I get it ... I know something is bad or not good for me yet I will occasionally do it anyway.   We can all cheer you on but in the end when faced to do it or not is yours.     You say you are aware of triggers ....what can you do instead of drinking and to deal with and change or minimize those triggers?

I think I am very lucky as my siblings all have addictions of some type,  I avoided it ...I am not sure why or what saved me... but now years down the road I can start to see where being drunk and for short term forgetting my issues sounds appealing lately.   In a way I know I am avoiding dealing with something and what will be best is to acknowledge that and face it instead of browsing through the alcohol at a store.

What would do do to convince a person like me to not start?    Maybe thinking of talking someone out of it will help you see why you too ...can stop.
