Don't want to drink but nothing to distract me

Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired because I drank the night before because I was... Sick and tired.

After a full shift at work, several times this week, I went to the grocery store and didn't go anywhere near the beer aisle.

Then the bus doesn't show, or the one after and I get to walk home in the humid 11 pm atmosphere... After working. So I stop in the store and buy some beer (equivalent of a 12-pack or more).

I would have been fine if I had to wait for the second bus, but second bus not coming means another hour before I'm home, if I walk. I just want to go from point a to b because when I'm home, I'm not going back out again and won't drink.

What am I to do during times like that? Keep in mind, this is around 11 pm so it's not like I have a lot of options to distract myself. I really don't want to drink anymore. I subscribed to BetterHelp to work on my substance abuse alongside my other therapist with whom I'm working on other issues. Has anyone heard of Tempest sobriety? Despite their political leanings, perhaps it will help.

Wound up walking home again yesterday. Left my debit card home so didn't have any money to spend. Got home and was able to distract myself with tv and video games while the Melatonin kicked in and knocked me out.

Still, I want a new drug because nothing is working anymore.

It's only been 2 days since I stopped drinking,. I can relate it's very tough, I'm just feeling really depressed. Hang in there. You're not alone
