Queer literature in school?

KittenOnTheMoon October 7th

Hi! I'm 24 and a bisexual girl, who's less than a semester away from graduating college. I'd prefer only fellow students answer if possible please!

I love to read and selected a major that has a lot of reading. But I realized that throughout my high school years and even now in my college career, none of my professors seems to have made any books surrounding LGBTQ+ topics a part of their required reading materials. I've read plenty of books discussing other marginalized groups and their struggles (Women, racial minorities, disabled people, etc.) which I'm grateful for, but realized that LGBTQ+ books seemed oddly absent. Wondering if anyone else has/had this happen to them in their academic career or not?

I didn't take any lit like courses in University. In high school I do remember we spent a lot of time on The Wars by Timothy Findlay. Not thd best representation but it was fitting for the period, and many high school classes had no lgbtq literature.
