How do I go back to studying

Potterhead4ourever December 4th, 2022

well I started studying for a very hard an important medicine school exam from two months ago and i was doing fine i studied from 3 hours and made it to even 6-7hours a day, despite going to my own major internships in hospital(I’m at the last year of studying for bachelors in midwifery) and having a hard time ,I was studying well and started well, but then I had to have my wisdom tooth out and I had so much pain and didn’t study for a week and then I had many shifts at hospital that would leave me very very tired, Forexample I had two night shifts in a row,and each shift is 12hours so I got so crushed, and now I feel so tired and so far from my studying schedule,I haven’t studied for 10 days and now I fear I can’t go back to studying again,I fear I’m way too much behind schedule to study again, how do I start again☹️

Hey hey @Potterhead4ourever, managing so much from studies, internship, health and then studying for this exam sounds like a lot. It is more than okay for you to lose motivation some days or don't feel the energy to keep up.

Studying does demand our concentration and focus also, so it's very much understandable that being tired leaves you with less or not much energy for it.

I understand how scary it must feel with the what-ifs for the exam and you wanting to give your best for it. Your best is all that matters though.

It was difficult getting to the hang of it even as you started earlier mhm? Or when you were able to turn the 2-3 hours to a good 6-7 hours. And it didn't happen overnight I'm sure. You took steps each day to try your best and increase the time spent studying gradually.

Guess what? You can do it again. It's more difficult now with lack of motivation and the scary what if thoughts, but that's okay, it just means you're bothered enough and you care enough to feel scared about it. Now something that we care so much about does deserve our best efforts and N number of trials, right?

There's definitely enough time left to try again and give it *your* best, at the very least, at the end of it, you get to be proud of the fact that you didn't stop trying, and that my friend, is a wonderful feeling. ❤

How do you feel about making a schedule for yourself, time spent at school and time you can give to studying for the exam now? (And then trying hard to stick with it), as you begin you'll find it difficult to stick with it, but that's something you'd need to push through, because that's what you deserve~ you deserve putting in your best efforts for *you*.

Sending lots of best wishes. You got this, one day at a time.❤
