Does anyone have any tips on how to not procrastinate?
I'm freaking out a bitbecause exams are coming up and I have to get certain grades because my offers from university are conditional!
Also I was wondering does anyone have any experience with going to their school counsellors? I was thinking of seeing mine but I'm pretty nervous about it - the only way I've ever been able to talk about my emotions is on the internet ahaha
When I'm procrastinating on school work, I set a timer - it has to be short for me because I have a hard time focusing for long periods. So I work for 15 minutes, take a 5 minute break, then 15 more minutes, then 5 break, then 15, then 5 break. So I spent an hour and got 45 minutes of work done. From there I take a longer break if I need it, or keep going.
I still struggle greatly with it, but often times I will reward myself after I've finished a certain amount of work. Like if I studied for 4 hours then I'd take a short break, eat a snack or watch something funny on youtube. It's a work in progress but it could be worth trying out. If you're really bored with say, reading, you could place gummy bears at the end of certain amount of sentences and the more you read, the more gummy bears you get. lol Not very healthy, but a little fun. Also sometimes if I'm REALLY bored and just putting it off, I will attempt to read in different accents to entertain myself.
set goals and super goals. Goals you can probably reach super goals are what you want to reach
I've been struggling a lot with procrastination as well. What others have mention is having a time schedule. Layout your whole day and put the time when you're going to do your studying and free times. All it takes is some time management. I'm still working on my time management lol. I hope this helps a little.

Just take it one day at a time. Make it a point to plan one day of doing as many things s possible, that you have neglected to do. Do as much as you can to keep busy and catch up, then the following days you will find you wont have as much to do, just from then on keep up with things.
The most useful tool I have learned to not procrastinate is to learn how to accept future gratification rather than instant gratification. This simply means that I have trained my mind to accept that if I work hard now, it will pay off later! This can be little things too... For example, if you make yourself do your homework now, reward yourself with something you enjoy afterwards! Reward yourself when you've worked hard... it gives you motivation to keep going!
I procrastinate, too. Not sure if this tactic will be helpful for you, butwhen I catch myselfprocrastinating, I visualize what will happen if I don't succeed in accomplishing the task I am avoiding. Then I visualize what will happen if I DO succeed in accomplishing the task I am avoiding. If the latter outweighs the former in benefits, I usually find myself effectively motivated. If the former is not that big a deal, i.e. there are no real gain/consequence associated with accomplishing/not accomplishing my task, I seriously consider deleting it from my list.
This technique works for even the stupidest things, like dishes and laundry.
Good luck! I wish you only success in your future endeavours.

I agree, school counselors are a greathelp! Sometimes it helps when we motivate ourselves. When we have an exam or something big coming up think of what would happen if we did not practice or study and then what we want to accomplish.
