Have you ever found yourself working on an issue or challenge in your life, feeling like it’s resolved, only to find that it has slipped over into a new area? Sometimes this can feel like the game whac-a-mole where you think you solved the problem only to find it surfacing in a new part of your life. You might find yourself stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts and behaviors, replaying the same struggles.
Last month I introduced a new intervention to confront this called the Transformation Wheel.
The wheel acts as a container so that the problem, and all the different ways it impacts you, can be captured in one place. You can think of it as a “problem catcher.” This makes the problem easier to track.
I used this tool to tackle a personal issue I had been struggling with for years in the hopes of breaking free of the negative cycles it put me in and it’s been transformative. I was feeling an 8/10 (bad!) on the distress scale and after 4 weeks of exploration and investment, the issue has dropped to 2/10, meaning the issue’s well managed now.
Several community members joined the initial trial testing the initiative on an issue in their life to help us determine if this would be a good addition to our community’s therapeutic toolbox.
Excitingly, it helped many reduce their symptoms, develop better coping strategies, and better manage their emotions round their issue.
Inspired by the success of our testers, we are now ready to expand this initiative and make it official!

How it works:

Each week, post in the corresponding forum thread (and comment on others to cheer them on!)
To keep yourself on track, you will fill out a progress report each new week (2, 3, 4)
At the end of Week 4, you’ll fill out your final reflection form summarizing your experience and sharing your takeaways, and you’ll receive the exclusive Braving Self badge! 💪✨
