Android User Group needed!
One thing about Android is it covers a wide range of devices and OSes and versions, far more than it's possible for us to test before releases, so perhaps it's not surprising that we are still encountering some bugs and issues with our Android app.
I'd like to ask Android users who are interested to respond to this thread with your type of phone (or other device) and the version of Android you're running and whether the app is working for you currently, occasionally getting the "white screen of death" or not working at all.
In cases where the app is not working, @ezraBC and I will reach out directly to troubleshoot your device, learn what's causing the problem, and fix it.
Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android Lollipop 5.0.1 everything has been working since the release! :)
So like, any and every bug on the app or just whether it works for the most part or not?
Android 4.4.4, Moto G. Generally works ok, but notifications show only the 2nd level text; if there is supposed to be a first level text, it's not displaying.
Phone type: OnePlus One
Android Version: 5.1.1.
The app works really slowy. I don't use it too much because of that. Haven't seen the white screen of death yet *hopefully never will have the chance haha* but I can help you guys with testing if you need it. :)
It would also be helpful for you to tell us if there are any versions your app won't work properly anyway. I know that many apps provide this info. Like "works good with any upper version of iOS / Android from 4.1.1" let's say ...
@cristiana33 if we determine there are any devices or versions of android we can't support we can "blacklist" them at the play store to prevent downloading, or offer the earlier version, but even then we'd prefer to make a build that does work on those devices and versions, perhaps a simpler one if necessary.

A little bug I found; sometimes when I return to the app it logs me in and I see everything as it should (profile picture, etc.) but I see the adult rooms and none of the teens room, I tried seeing if it would post as Ace13 in those room but instead it just gives me a random guest name and only way to get the teens room is to kill the app and restart it a few times
@Ace13 - sounds like some sort of failed login
cc @ezraBC
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn that sounds plausible, it's often after an unusually long loading time
I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A8 tablet running Android 5.0 and it works for me.
Please update to 2.1 and let us know how well the app works on your device!
I am particularly interested in the experience of people with devices running versions of the Android OS less than 4.4.
Thanks!
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn the loader icon is a nice addition :D however I can already see a bug, when trying to edit a post it asks you to fill all required fields but there is just a cancel/edit button? I already had that problem on the site before but refreshing was helping
Please download and test version 2.1.2 !
We are testing a theory here... Let me know if it crashes or alts or oherwise misbehaves for you.
Thanks!
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn might be me who is unlucky, but I get more white screens when loading the app then before, but when it is working, it loads a lot faster, especially the feed/notif area
@Ace13 - this is on 2.1.2, and the problem still occurs on loading?
if so, please PM @ezraBC and see if he can troubleshoot your device, as there may be more than one factor creating this problem
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn okie, will do! I also found that when you get to links from the notification bar and other things, most of the time we lose the navbar
@Ace13 - this is still the case?
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn sounds like it got fixed!
@Ace13 - nice
slowly but surely
three steps forward one step back
we are getting there!
