@760Jayde

Hey Jayde <3 It's really brave of you to reach out for help, and it sounds like you're not wanting to go back to self-harming. Hold onto that. I hope you have recovered now, and I'm sorry nobody has replied to you on time. For next time, I would highly recommend utilising your local/country crisis helplines. Talking sometimes helps and is all I personally need, though I do understand that every body and every situation is different.

Are you currently seeing a mental health professional? I encourage you to see them, if possible.

But for things to do in the moment, it can be incredibly difficult to fight the urges and the thoughts and the feelings. Take yourself out of the environment you're in. Depending on the emotion that triggered the urges, do something physical that can combat or relieve the emotion. Angry? Punching bag or screaming or using a soft object e.g. pillow, teddy, to hit a brick wall. Sad? Cry or journal.

There are lots of alternatives to self-harm that can be found in this forum or online. It's all about trial and error. Distraction tends to help me, such as counting how many bricks or lines I can see in my area, naming every object that is purple, counting numbers, being creative etc.
