Self-Harm Alternatives?

I’ve been struggling with self harm for the past 2 months and I started trying to recover 1 month ago. Except, I keep relapsing after a week of being clean. My last relapse was on Feb 1 and I was clean for 8 days before that. I really want to stop, so I was wondering if anyone had some tips for me and anyone else to stop completely?

Thank you 😊

Hiya @fluffypickles123 welcome to the community. 💛

S-H can be really difficult to deal with, specially when you're struggling with it alone, so I'm really glad you've found a safe space in 7 cups to reach out and seek some support while you try your best to recover.

Relapses are unfortunately an intricate part of the recovery but hey hey, 8 days clean is pretty amazing and I am super proud of youuuu for being so determined to come out of it. We'll continue trying our best, one day at a time, okie(?).💛

I find distractions and some alternatives helpful sometimes. One of my favorite "go-to" space for ideas is this post: https://www.7cups.com/forum/generalsupport/CommunitySpace_2539/AnExtensiveListofHealthyDistractionsSelfLoveTechniques_53317/

Ooh and many more resources in the "resources" section of this community's homepage as well. For instance, here's a great list of sh alternatives: https://www.7cups.com/forum/selfharm/InformationandResources_1079/SELFHARMALTERNATIVES_2480/

Feel free to check these out and share what you think. Of course you have the community cheering and supporting you always!💛
