my younger sister has been showing signs of self harm like wanting to cut and hitting herself. she is really young, around 12 and i am scared for her. i love her very much but i don’t know how to help her cause i see her pain and i’ve been there before. she seems to be having it worse then i did though and i just want to help her somehow. my parents can tell but they don’t know what to do either. how can i help her?

Get her a psychiatrist. If you wait, things will only get worse. There's a app called betterhelp, if you're on a budget. Seriously. It's better to get her help than wait because self harm can be addictive.

That's the age I started cutting. I'm 31 now and while I haven't cut in about two years, the addiction doesn't go away. Try talking to her or see if she'd be willing to talk to someone. I started it because I didn't know how to handle my feelings and maybe getting her to talk to someone who can help her understand her feelings will help her.
