I want to deal with my self harm.

CallMeFiorella October 20th

I started self harming about two months ago. My self harm is not bad yet, I only did a few cuts that were very superficial.

I want to deal with this now because I don't want it to get worse. My best friend is the one who's helping me through this path.

I want to create a notebook full of things that can help me when I feel the urge to self harm. I can use it as a diary and write down my emotions, but I'd like to create little "activities" I can do everytime I want to cut myself. For example, I can draw multiple arms and draw on them instead of self harming everytime I need to.

Do you have any ideas for the "activities" I can add? Consider they have to be short and repeatable and they have to be made on paper. Thank you in advance!

Hey! Welcome to our community. I'm so glad you reached out and you are planning to take steps to prevent sh becoming an addition. Here are some alternatives of sh :

  • Putting ice on the place you use to hurt yourself.
  • Mark the place with a red pen.
  • Listen to music.
  • Running.
  • Reading a book.
  • Coloring.
  • Put on a rubber band and flick it.
  • Talk to a listeners here on Cups.

Hope they helps. Good luck.
