Self-Harm Recovery Daily Check-in: Monday September 6, 2021
Those words. How much of an effect do they have on you? I can only speak for myself, but they've affected me greatly during my mental health journey, from good to bad and bad to good. I've felt viewed in a harsh light, and I've felt like a social experiment gone wrong. I've felt many ways, but the worst was feeling broken like nobody could help me.
But slowly, piece by piece, I've been able to put myself back together/ And that means more than it ever could if someone did it for me.

You are NOT broken. And if you think you are, think again. Think harder. You are healing. Healing from pain. But pain doesn't mean you were broken. Pain means you're one of us all, and we're all one of you. We all experience pain. But none of us are broken.

-It's made it harder. Quite! Made it harder to make the decision, and stick to it.

Hey! I hope you're feeling better. Every day is a new one. Every hour is a new one too. The external world can definitely make things feel harder for us. Not great. I feel like I've been regressing in recovery, but I'm trying to be more compassionate with myself.

Sometimes it's made me want to give up on recovery and made things harder and more difficult to get help, but there are a couple of people who've made things a little easier.

Hey Chimpanzee. I hope you're feeling better today. Self-compassion is of BIG importance. Everyone can definitely be kinder to themselves. I'm glad you've realised that within yourself. It can be helpful to figure out what's stopping you from moving forward in recovery. With acknowledgment comes understanding and with that comes change.
I understand the external world can make it tough for us to to ask for help and to make the decision to recover, and so many decisions related to recovery. I'm glad you've got some supportive friends and I hope you do ask them for support and help when you need it.
