Heya everyone! Its Thursday already, nearly the end of the week!
I came across this self-soothing x 5 senses list which I really wanted to share with you today. It can be really helpful to use our senses to soothe ourselves, and thus really important to know what has a soothing effect on our senses!

1) How are you feeling? Good! I'm have jumping lesson today to prepare for my upcoming show and I'm hoping that my coach and I will decide what devision I'm going to enter :))) I have my online calc class in a few minutes though which annoys me, haha.
2) How is your week going? My week is going well. High school online is boring, but I'm going with the flow.
3) What would you put in your own 'soothe yourself' list? Definitely gum, BTS music, and riding.

Heya ! Im sorry for the delay ! I hope your jumping session went well, Im actually pretty curious, is it jumping like long jumping and all in athletics? Or with horses since you mentioned riding?
As for calc class online, that does sound annoying, its already not easy in person so it must be tough online I hope it went okay! Do you know if theyre considering starting again in person at some point?

1) How are you feeling?
Very mixed and up and down, but basically calm in some ways... :/ I just spoke to a friend / mentor who was really great. I feel pretty shaky still, but not panicky. I don't know...
2) How is your week going?

So, I've sort of been pushing the envelope with intermittent fasting and have ended up in some pretty eating-disordery territory. Basically every time no one is watching me I am so happy I can skip meals. I ate Thursday night, Saturday night, Salad on Monday, Tuesday night, Thursday night. I feel like my behavior is slipping out of control. This is not a big issue for me. It was when I was a teenager, and then nearly was about 5 years ago. But it is not normal for me. Its just kind of a curve ball, I guess. I'm going to go back to therapy, because I don't want to add to my list of maladaptive behaviors. And It may be smart to understand what's underneath it I guess... Ugh...
3) What would you put in your own 'soothe yourself' list?
I'm going to try moving an electric piano into my bedroom and practising Bach for 30 minutes a day :) Hopefully that will help.

Im sorry to hear you were feeling very mixed as well as up and down, I hope the conversation with your friend/mentor had time to set in and hopefully helped you feel better, and if not, that the weekend will help!
I can definitely understand how facing again these behaviors feels like control slipping, its really good though that youre going to address the issue now and not wait for things to really be out of control. It might not be fun to work on it and understand whats beneath it, but Im proud of you to see youre focusing on yourself plus doing it smartly with understanding and not waiting for being out of control!

My week has been going better than I was expecting. I've been able to really catch up on work and enjoy myself. The waves of sadness still come and go, but it's ok. I know I can get through this

Listening to music, reading a book, watching a soothing video, lying in bed

Hey there ! Sorry about the delay ! Im sorry to hear you were feeling down, how are you feeling now?
Its lovely to hear your week went better than expected, with catching up on work and time to enjoy yourself! Its also great to see your positive mindset with knowing you can get through this despite the waves of sadness. Did taking time to enjoy yourself help handle the waves of sadness though?

I'm feeling better now, thank you for asking. :-) Not as much as I would have liked, but it did help. I've been learning to manage my emotions a lot better, and I'm happy to see that it's been working and I've been feeling better this week. Here's hoping it'll slowly get better soon. Take care, too!

listening to certain music and talking abt my hyperfixations always tends to help me feel better~!!
