Someone said they were trying to heart my comments, but they weren't going through?

A user and I were having a conversation, and they mentioned to me that they had been trying to heart my comments for quite a while now and it won't stick and go through to give me compassion points. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how to fix this?

Not sure what's meant by "won't stick." If you refresh the page or switch chats, the +s for hearts reset to zero. The person still received the Compassion points, but the graphic has reset to the default gray heart. There is also a 10 heart limit, so one person can only give another person 10 Compassion hearts in a 24-hour period. Either of those could be what was happening.
