I am an emotional vampire but I don't know how to shutdown and be a good friend. I've lost every friend in my life to my vampirism and it's driven me to the edge. I just want to be a good friend.I have "victim" type =/

Counselling can help if you want to make changes in your thinking. I think CBT would be helpful. Or person centred therapy if you know what changes to make and how, and you just want someone to bounce ideas off. There are others too. It is hard work to change personality styles but it is possible.

I just looked up the term, and it seems that I am one too, to a certain degree.
