Gender?

Hi guys, this probably makes me an idiot, but how do I tell the gender of the person I'm talking to. This is becoming relevant quickly

Hi! I personally never ask any details about them like gender. Unless the issue theyre having is very gender focussed, maybe LGBTQissues, it really shouldn't matter. You can give them a safe place where they feel like they can share info like that about themselves if they need to but I dont think there are many situations you would NEEDto know to be honest? Can you give an example?
Sure, any romantic focus. Someone talking about a girl or boy they're interested in or have difficulties with, anxiety that comes from that. So yeah-- LGBTQ stuff.

Hmm well, again I deal with romantic and relationship chats without knowing the person's gender, it just doesn't seem that I NEED to know that.Unless specifically gender based (in which case the person will tell you when they explain the situation), relationship problemsare all the same regardless of gender. I don't know, maybe I'm missing the point, I just think if it's important for you to know so that you understand the situation, they will tell you.
