Safety Patrol Rule Update

MidnightRaven999 July 17th, 2020

Hi all! In light of Glens post covering religious beliefs and the soon to be released update to listener profiles, the admins and I have decided that we should no longer flag religious profile pictures; we want the rules of the community to make sense in all parts of the community; therefor it makes sense to us to allow people to express their religious beliefs through their profiles, as long as they are not imposing those beliefs on others.

Tagging people!

@MidnightRaven999

Raven, thank you so very much for making us aware! smileyheart This, I must say, In my opinion is quite brilliant! The leadership around here is amazing! It's a thing of beauty to sit back and see how teams are working together now, noticing the bigger picture and seeing how one change in one so called "area" can affect other things! It truly can be a ripple affect around here.

I don't think it's really off topic to say, (because it is safety related) the new way member accounts are handled. While I don't understand it all, it's okay, it just seems from the very little I understood, that if a listener blocks a member somehow there is something set in place now to keep the listener from being victimized over and over from that particular user even if new member accounts are created. I thought the timing was impeccable to roll out this new feature even before allowing listeners to share their religious beliefs under "lived experiences".

People can be asked their religious beliefs here via pm and then once sharing, be victimized because of that. Broadcasting it from "lived experiences" could make someone an even easier target. But, now because of the new plan, at least listeners could feel more at ease to list it. Might get them once, but it sounds like it won't happen over and over.
