Spiritually dry

yourlisteningear October 30th, 2023

Hey, have u guys ever felt spiritually dry? Like I find going to church not doing much to my spiritual growth lately.. a person who is easily drained socially, I don't have a group where i call it a cell group that i go to as well. I have a few spiritual friends but we don't meet often. Going on youtube to hear about sermons/listening to Christian podcasts didn't seem to feed me much as well. I am just wondering, are there creative ways where we can get to be closer to god and to work on this spiritual dryness? What do you guys do?

God bless!

@yourlisteningear religion has not been a easy road for me. Now I don't class myself as any particular religion. I believe in God and angels😁 you know you just have to look around to find him. The sunrise the coulors of the sky, that's God. A new born baby, or a precious flower, that's God. We are surrounded by beauty and magic, that's God. He's blessed us in many ways, you just have to look around you to find him. You don't have to go to church to pray or talk to him, I pray whenever I hear a police/firetruck/ambulance siren go by. Tha t God will look after all the people involved and their families and friends. I talk to God in the mornings when I watch the sunrise, he's looking after my son in heaven till we can be together again. All you need to do is slow down look around once in a while, otherwise you could miss it ❤❤

I feel this way often. I work in the church and have since I was 12! It can become very routine, dry, and I feel like I don’t wanna do it anymore and that nothings new with me and God.

But I think it’s no different than a relationship with a person. There will be dry seasons but that doesn’t mean stop pursuing that person because YOU don’t FEEL. Feeling can be our friend but also it can deceive us and steer us from what we know.

Don’t go by what you feel but what you know, that the Bible says when you take a step towards God, he takes a step towards you. Even if you cannot feel it, you know it because his word is true.

Hello @yourlisteningear, :)

Many fellow believers in faith have spiritual thirsts along the journey.
The focus is on Christ who is the author & finisher of the faith. Hebrews 12:2
The water that Christ has given will never make anyone thirst. John 4:14

Having said the above,
but many believers in faith along the spiritual journey indeed feel spiritually dry,
your current feelings are valid. :)
The believers in faith mentioned in Acts 2:46-47
realised the importance of fellowship.

As you mentioned,
you are currently not in any cell group of the church
but you have spiritual friends who have not been meeting often,
maybe you may like to consider forming your own Bible study group? :)
The Bereans search the Scriptures daily (Acts 17:11) &
the Bible provides all teachings for believers in faith see also 2 Timothy 3:16

Conversely,
you may like to also consider reaching out
to many who are still unsaved? Romans 10:17 see also Ephesians 1:13-14

Perhaps forming a partnership with a spiritual friend and/or a group
to evangelise and reach out to the unsaved may enrich your spiritual life?

For your reference.

May you have a fulfilling spiritual journey and life with the LORD. :)
