i fell for my bf in 6th grade, when we met. I told him I liked him in 9th grade, and he also had liked me since 6th grade. We’re still dating, and it’s been almost a year. I love everything about him. We’ve made it through a lot of stress, but we’re doing great

I met my partner at a course. On the first day I was at the course, I charted with him a little. On the second day, I sat next to him mainly because the guy who had sat next to me the previous day was annoying. He came on walks with me during breaks. I very quickly realised he fancied me. I... really enjoyed talking to him and being around him. But I was still struggling with a previous relationship so I initially turned him down. He agreed to be friends with me though I was convinced he was just saying that. But a few weeks later, he put his money where his mouth was as it were and took me on a long hike. He had a hard time looking at me for too long to begin with, but other than that, you wouldn't have said I had rejected him just a few weeks prior. He was sweet and courteous. He respected my space and he did his best to be my friend and just hang out with me. That's when I began falling in love with him I think. It took me another week to fully process everything, but then I told him why I had said no originally and that if he was still interested, then so was I.

After that... I slowly fell in love with him. I'm still falling in love with him I think. It's now been about 5 months. We're both still adjusting and we both had previous relationships that were really hard. So it's been a journey to learn to trust again I think for both of us. But I'm glad I took that chance and I'm grateful he was patient with me when I needed it. I think we've managed to build a healthy relationship so far and I look forward to nurturing it further. I think it can grow into something steadfast and durable. I hope so.

He's sweet and patient and always willing to listen to me or talk things through. He makes me laugh and gives great cuddles. He's a genuinely kind human being, not just to me, but to everyone around him. He's always willing to help. I can't help but admire the genuine, earnest desire he has to help people. When he puts his arms around me, he makes me feel safe and supported. He makes me feel valid even when I'm being stubborn or irrational. He makes me want to be kinder, tidier (yes, I've actually become almost tidy since knowing him 😂), more conscious of the environment... he just makes me want to be a better version of me just by being around him. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve him and I can only hope he gets something out of this relationship too. But I can't imagine what more anyone could ask from a partner.
