Emotional Connection Anxiety

Demax12321 December 2nd, 2016

Is it too young to be anxious to have an emotional/romantic connection with anyone? I've had a bunch of difficulty with this and I've had chest pains whenever I look at someone I'm attracted to and I get really depressed whenever I find someone attractive. Is it too young to feel this way? (If I had a pet, it would be easier but I do not, unfortunately.) It's really been difficult for me for the last couple of years.

hey there. no, not at all -- yes, perhaps it may seem so, but children tend to understand love from a very young age, and teens do tend to feel attracted to others. here's a link that may help you further, though. i hope you've been having a wonderful day, and all the best!

Hi. I dont think there is an age requirement for love :) I would be more concered about the "really depressed" part and what that meant to you in terms of healthy relationships and life as you enter the "love" scene. Saddness, anxiety and depression can certainly be part of the equation when we look at dating but I always encourage people to start as healthy as possible so that we can move through relationships and love as our most healthy selves.
