I guess it's due to the fact that (at least in France) the only for schools to accept to talk about sexuality is by talking about reproduction... You know, it's "a necessity for the human specie", not something as pointless and vain as "pleasure".... >_> Thanks a lot religious "morale" and all -_-
In France we can talk about it by talking about discriminations, so some MOGAI organizations can talk about homophobia, and relationship, love, attraction, consent etc... The Planned Parenthood organization also tries to talk about safe sex in an inclusive way, and talks a lot about stereotypes etc... but it's still very hetero-cis-centered...
I find it very violent to presume that everyone with a vagina is a woman, that every heterosexual relationship is between cis partners, that there is such a thing as "gay sex" (what the heck does that mean ?!).. I even heard a sex therapist say - when hearing a feminist from Planned Parenthood talk about asexuality to teenagers - that well, if a teenager claims to be asexual, that must be temporary right ? *facepalm*
Sex is still very binary and cis-centered, things are always seen as "relationships between boys and girls", like there are two definite camps that can't understand each others... Thing is, they don't realize that reinforcing the idea that the biggest difference between people is gender IS what creates most of the issues between people -__-...
Everything gets wrongly gendered, like genitals or sexual positions... I'm very sad and scared for all the trans, intersex, and lesbian people in classes (because let's be honnest, safe sex for gay men is quite covered by communautary's organizations..
One of my goal is to go to schools and highschools to promote a actually inclusive sex ed.. But well, it's still very hard to get into schools saying you want to talk about sex.. (or about gender, about MOGAI, about transphobia...)...
