But what do you do when you don't want to start the next chapter? When the last chapter was so perfect that the book should end and it's guaranteed, due to circumstances out of your control, that future chapters aren't going to be anywhere near as good. What's the point in ever starting the next chapter?

@dedelf6809 Sounds like a stage of grief that you have to manage on your own timeline. Maybe you like rereading the last chapter over and over again - a lot of grieving people do that (some people even grieve the loss of their hairdresser, considering many people know them longer than many of their other relationships). Don't let anybody rush you along. If they truly want you to be happy (and aren't just after their own convenience) then it is you who should decide what makes you more or less happy. The ultimate decision should be yours - others can help if you want them to, but it's not their job to drag you where you don't want to go.
