Crushed by Crushes?

rose37xo April 16th, 2017

What are your thoughts on crushes? What do you do when it's unrequited, or when it's unrequited and your crush is your friend? What do you do if there are only feelings going in one direction (from one of you to the other), but both know about it?

These are some common questions regarding crushes; feel free to share your thoughts or add your own Q's (:

@rose37xo hmmm I think crushes can be fun! They're based on different things for different people but I feel like from my experience, the people around me have had "crushes" on people before they really knew them and that's what made them want to get to know them.. call it an immediate attraction.. like you are drawn to that person. When it's unrequited, I think of it as a learning lesson.. when I was in high school I had a "crush" on this really cute guy and I kind of made myself believe he liked me back.. but then I realized he liked my friend all along and well, after some time I got over it. It's tough when you like someone and they don't like you back.. sometimes they grow to once you get to know each other, sometimes all it is is a crush and it doesn't go beyond that. When you have a crush on a friend, that can kind of blur boundaries a little.. I think the best thing is to spend time with them and see if they give any signs that they have an interest in you.. If you're not sure there's always the option of telling your friend how you feel.. but again, that depends a lot on if you want it to be something more or if you want to just remain friends and just "crush" on them but not act on it. Sometimes it can be awkward so I think it's important to figure out how you feel and what it means to you and want you want before having that conversation with your "crush". Just a couple thoughts. What do you think? Thanks for the post!

@calidescopeheart Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! I agree that it's usually just situational and individual. I feel like crushes are unique in a way because it's a whole mix of feelings that are generally lighter, less intense than an exclusive one on one relationship. They can definitely be frustrating, though. I really like how you view it as a learning experience if the feelings are unrequited; that's a good way of looking at it. Sometimes I feel torn; like a part of me wants to tell them or do something about it, but the other part of me just wants to disappear and make it all stop haha.

@rose37xo you're right! haha sounds like you are kind of caught in the middle. I can definitely relate! You got this. Listen to your instincts, they tend to lead you in the right direction. :)

@rose37xo

I dont know. I've never been in this position where I've had a crush on someone. Its always been a mutual liking. Fortunately enough never had to face an unrequitted crush.

@afriendindeed8 Same..Until recently πŸ˜£πŸ˜… Haha it's always been mutual for me too, so I'm a little unfamiliar with the feelings that are hitting me now.
