Split with boyfriend due to my mental health

cello440 December 21st, 2015

Title says quite a bit. :(

He's lovely. A kind fellow. We were together for only 4-5 months. But my mental health was deteriorating. I'm on a 2nd medication now. He lived an hour away. College got in the way for both of us, but especially me.

Very reluctant to split with him. But my mental health was going down. We HAD to break up if I'm supposed to get better.

So upset. He's so great. I cried SO much when we split. I cried so much to the point where I couldn't drive home anymore. I needed my family to come get me and my car. And then he cried too. Too many tears.

Sorry for the double post. The app was being rather weird. Anyway, I guess I need support. It's a tough time. I have MDD and GAD with massive trust issues and honestly, I have borderline symptoms. I dunno. I'm so worn out and tired. I'm not sure what to think. I just need encouragement from people I guess?? My therapist and I agreed to meet twice a week now.

I'm truly getting tired of my mental health ruining my relationships.

thanks for your time. :(

@cello440

Hello dear!

I'm so sorry you are hurting right now, you have made a incredibly hard decision to break up with your boyfriend it must be so very painful for you, but I just want to say, and want you to know how strong and brave you really are, you are putting yourself first to focus on your health at the moment, and it's absolutely the right thing to do for you! I'm so very proud of you for putting you first! You are so important!

Its wonderful to hear you have a supportive family around you, and receiving help from your therapist, you are most defiantly on the right track, you are worth the sacrifices you have made, one day you will see this, good luck in your recover process!

Best wishes x

*hugs*

Thank you so much for reaching out, that's tough to do!

I definitely invite you to vent on here, or even get a listener for some 1-1 support and kind words.

Anxiety and borderline symptoms aren't fun at all </3 please treat this as a safe and compassionate place whenever you need it.
