an old one
tw: self-harm, war
***
the bells in your face of a girl
the daisies in your face of a boy
the icebroken paws
the bird’s wings of touch
o heart that is orangely blown!
you close your eyes to hide the kindness within
(they’ll be gouged out for kindness!)
wandering weightlessly through my lavender fields
flying transparently like a spirit of the sky
you’re a rabbit; you’re trembling; your paws
are a keyboard instrument
your hands
are a violin
your lips, body, and leaves
are a violin, too.
piercing three universes through the eye of a needle
the infinity of time overcomes the chronicity of suicide
only a blue star is eternal
only your azure scream is eternal
i will speak when you remember all of my forty names.
***
i am a guy who can magically create a bouquet
i am a girl whose face was shredded by a russian missile
i am a sea-devil fish from odesa
i am consumed by hatred
i take a little bird in my hands
it will return to its mom and feed the world with golden milk
then the paradise will come and everyone will be happy.
***
wherever i go, i take hallucinations with me
no one understands that the voices resemble ruins
and the world is as bright as a little horse…
hey you
with kindness in eyes
i’m carving a horse
a beautiful horse
on my weary skin.

@annieblackfield
Your piece has a certain ethereal quality to it, cryptic but with a looming sense of strong emotions that bleed out bit by bit with the metaphors you chose. Thank you for sharing it with us.
