To Rewrite Time
Glowing embers, to ashes gray-
you touch me and I’ll float away.
The spotted doe with her young fawn
you look away, and then they’re gone
To fix this mess, to rewrite time..
oh, to restore that which was once yours and mine
willing to sell my soul to turn back this clock
to regain the keys that fit my lock.
In the morning you are a sunlit meadow;
in dusky eve, a garden of shadows.
a woodland cottage off the beaten way
once was lived in, it now decays..
To fix this mess, to rewrite time..
oh to restore that which was yours and mine
willing to sell my soul to turn back this clock
to regain the keys that fit my lock.
The cherry blossoms: blushing, blooming-
leave behind a world so gloomy.
the supernova radiating light
fades to exist, leaves the darkest of nights.
To fix this mess, to rewrite time..
oh to restore that which was yours and mine
willing to sell my soul to turn back this clock
to regain the keys that fit my lock.

@burningRain127- Rain, thank you for sharing these beautifully written words with us. I can feel your heart in these descriptions! I really like the way you blended nature and animals into the longing, almost desperate emotions that you convey here. It is not possible to turn back time, but sometimes we dearly wish that we could!
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed reading your poem.
