Poem inspired by Emily Dickinson

gentleSail2728 November 15th, 2022

My heart--My mind,

Are on opposing sides-

Emotions-warm and furious-

Stoke up flames unwanted.

How can I stop it? Before anyone notices--Before you notice them?

I wish-I wish for these flames to be cooled- and for peace to regin in me.

@SleepyShyCat thank you! No, not always just when something comes across my mind that I want to write into a poem.
