When youth ends, are you old?
If it’s not hot, will it be cold?
If it’s not full, is there more to hold?
If you aren’t a coward, must you be bold?
You’re not there, you must be gone
If you are right, someone else is wrong
You have ended, will you move on?
Life is short, promises are long
Is it the other way around?
Immortality, riches, broken vows
When have you ever thought a sound?
He’s the ruler, he wears the crown.
Who is it that you look up to?
What has he done, what does he do?
Tell you lies, cut the hew
Burn the flame, take a few
If you win, they will lose
Maybe they will leave, confused
If you will die, why do you live
If you are rich, you refuse to give
If you will leave, why do you stay
When you’re alone, you take time away
If you are hot, you wish to be cold
If you are young, you wish to be old
If you are poor, you give to the poor
When you are rich, you wish for more
Tell me, please, what do you want?
Something more for your dreams to haunt
Something to avoid their taunts
Or something more to feel your want
Something that you need to need
Advice that you question to heed
Take the plant, throw out the seed
“I just need to find something new to see”
