Killing Love
I wrote this when I was in a very dark corner, and wanted nothing more to do with this world. So if you take anything away from this, please let it be that you need to be kind to yourself even when you’ve made a mistake and that your life is precious, if you leave your life, you only leave a wake of pain for those that love you! Thank you for reading.
Killing Love
As I lay in wait...
For you to kick in and take me away...
To that timeless place...
Where I feel no pain...
It might be a waste...
I have lost my faith...
And I can't keep pace...
Mind's a race...
As my heartbeat slows....
I hear those old crows...
Singing those mellow notes...
They guide me toward the dark unknown...
I know this life is just on loan...
But to whom I owe it all...
I'm about to fall...
6 feet deep...
I've had no sleep, I’ve had no sleep...
My love is dead.
Now they cry tears, faces red…
Reprieve at last in my head…
But as I look closer…
I’m all alone, in this shed……
Please reach out for help when things get tough, you’re never alone in any situation, and even just having a friendly chat with someone online or off will help! Stay busy, focused and stay strong. You’ve got this!!!
@BrokenLuck
incredibly moving. thank you for sharing this part of yourself with us!
Thank you!! That really means a lot! I used poetry as a form of expression and healing. When I wrote that, I had to sit and read it again because it struck a heart string with the equivalent to a slap in the face and that’s when I realized I needed help. I love to write poetry and have always been afraid to share out of fear of being judged on the basis of gender. So again thank you, your words carry more weight than you know!❤️🩹
I have more trunk poetry I’m considering sharing. 🤷🏽
