Person of color losing a job that's still there.
I currently work for a casino banking corporation at a satellite location. I am a 26-year-old multiracial woman. I have had my job for a year and a half. I have done exceptionally well at my job. I even taught myself all of the games. No writeups or anything.
six months ago I left my child's father or he left me. So I was left with a higher rent a condo and high bills a cat and a dog. Yet I got tired so I moved out sold all of my stuff and room shared well got a roommate in a smaller apartment to start over again. I did all of that because I knew I still had my job and I love my job.
The day I moved in to my new place I found out that the company I work for contract has went up and a new company is coming in. That was last month. So after two weeks of everyone being anxious we all get interviews with the new company. I feel mine went well but now I have two weeks left of work and no phone call back and all I can do is cry.
Now I feel like I've lost my place. I have nothing to my name and now I have no job. I don't know why this new company does not want me. I know the people who are getting hired on are white. And that's not the main race of the workforce there. They got a call and I am more qualified.
