new to the community/ looking for resources

bestHuman2332 December 28th, 2023

hello, i'm 19F and identify as South Asian. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety the past years since covid and I'm not sure where to find support spaces that share the same struggles as me. i find that most of my struggles come from my minority background and how i have dealt with it. i've depended on friends for support and to an extent, family members, but i feel i've exhausted the support of my friends that they're tired too. i am seeing a therapist, however i am also looking for others who are on a similar journey. i wonder if there's anyone out there.

if it is possible, can anyone link people of color mental health resources, support groups, etc? i've done a few searches and only found nami's asian american support group to be active so far.

i do know there are social media like reddit who have subreddits to post and read in, but im not sure if i want to lean into social media sites for support (If reddit counts as one).

thank you for reading.

@bestHuman2332 hi welcome to cups ❤I'm lola ❤ I share two of the same issues as you depression and anxiety. But I'm pretty sure if you look up a listener, or try the support chat rooms, you'll find many people who share your struggles. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤
